DOORS & FINISH CARPENTRY

Doors that work.
Details that belong.Door Repair & Finish Carpentry in Greater Charlotte, NC

A door that sticks. Trim that needs attention. A better connection between rooms. Tell Nick what needs to work better, and agree on the details before work begins.

Repair, adjust and finish.

  • Door adjustments, hinges, latches, locks and handles
  • Damaged door frames and exterior trim
  • Baseboards, crown molding and finish trim
  • Weatherstripping, door sweeps and finishing touch-ups
  • Sliding barn doors and custom access doors, after reviewing the opening

Start with the cause, then the finish.

A sticking door and deteriorated wood call for different solutions. Nick reviews the opening, existing materials and the finish you want, then confirms the repair or installation scope. The work includes preparation, cleanup and a final walkthrough of the agreed work.

What affects the estimate?

The number and size of openings, trim profile, hardware, access and the extent of damaged material affect the estimate. Hidden deterioration may need an on-site look. A new opening also needs a review of what is inside the wall before its scope can be agreed.

What to include in your message

Send a wide photo of each opening and close-ups of the problem. Tell Nick whether the door sticks, fails to latch or has damaged wood. Include your city and any plans to paint or replace the finish.

REAL NICORHINO WORK · CHARLOTTE, NC

BEFORE WE GET STARTED

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Can a sticking door be adjusted instead of replaced?

It depends on the door, frame and cause of the problem. Photos of the gaps, hinges and latch help Nick review whether an adjustment or a more involved repair makes sense.

Can you match existing trim?

Send a close-up and approximate measurements of the trim profile. Material availability and the condition of adjoining pieces help determine whether a close match or a larger replacement area is practical.

Can you install a sliding barn door?

Yes, this is a scope to discuss with Nick. Include the door dimensions, a product link and photos of the wall above and beside the opening so rail clearance and support can be reviewed.

Is painting included with a repair?

Tell Nick whether you want the repaired area prepared for painting or painted as part of the work. The finish and any adjoining areas will be included in the agreed scope.
