FROM THE NICORHINO PROJECT JOURNAL
A new connection.
An easier way through.
A new doorway between the closet and laundry, finished with a modern sliding barn door.
Text photos for a free estimateFrom a solid wall to direct access.
The homeowner wanted access from the closet into the laundry. The first photo shows the wall marked for the new doorway, with a small inspection opening already made.
The work
NICORHINO created the opening between the two spaces and installed a modern sliding barn door. The finished door has white framing, frosted glass panels and a black rail.
The result
The new doorway connects the closet and laundry directly. The sliding door moves along the wall beside the opening rather than swinging into either room.
Planning a similar change?
Start with the route you want to create, photos of both sides of the wall and measurements of the available space. A sliding door needs clear wall space beside the opening and suitable support for its rail.
Agree on the opening and the finish.
The wall's construction, anything inside it, door dimensions, hardware and finishing work all need review before a new opening can be scoped. Photos are a starting point; an on-site assessment may be needed.
REAL PROJECT / BEFORE & AFTER
The same wall, with a new purpose.
Owner-supplied photographs of NICORHINO's work. Before: the wall prepared for an opening. After: the installed sliding barn door.
